Bay Cove Human Services offers staff and their families a rich selection of benefit programs designed to meet the needs of its diverse workforce. Bay Cove recognizes the importance that benefit plans play in our everyday lives, and awards staff with competitive, affordable programs meant to enhance the quality of their lives.
Health insurance--specifically quality and affordability--continues to rank as the most crucial of any benefit an employer offers. Bay Cove offers a choice of three unique health plans through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts. The three plans were selected to reflect the different needs of its workforce.
Eligible employees are able to join after a 30-day waiting period. Part-time employees working 20 or more hours per week are eligible with pro-rated agency contribution. Coverage is available on both an Individual and Family basis.
Bay Cove Human Services contributes 60% of the mid-range plan or the same dollar amount for the other two plans. After two years of employment, the agency increases its contribution to 70% of the mid-range plan or the same dollar amount for the other two plans.
Voluntary Dental Insurance
Employees pay 100% of the group rate cost of this Blue Cross Blue Shield Plan. Employees are eligible to join on the first day of the calendar month following their date of hire. Coverage is available on both an Individual and Family basis.
Retirement Savings Plan
A 403(b) retirement plan is available upon hire for all employees over the age of 21 years who work more than 20 hours per week. The plan is 100% employee-paid through payroll deduction on a pre-tax basis.
After you have been employed for two years, the agency will provide a matching contribution. Following 10 years of continued employment, the agency funds an additional discretionary contribution equal to a percentage of the employee's salary.
Flexible Savings Plans
Bay Cove offers Flexible Savings Plans for both Medical and Dependent Care expenses. These allow you to set aside money on a pre-tax basis, from which you are reimbursed for qualified expenses.
Long Term Disability
An insurance program that protects against loss of earnings while disabled on a long term basis. It provides 60% of an average week's wages. This plan is paid for fully by Bay Cove Human Services. Employees are eligible for enrollment two years from date of hire.
Voluntary Short Term Disability
Employees pay 100% of premium. Policies are offered by Colonial Supplementary Life Insurance Company, for regularly scheduled employees working 20 or more hours.
Group term life insurance is provided free of cost in an amount equal to 1 x annual salary after you have been employed for two years. After 10 years of service, you will receive twice your yearly salary with a cap of $250,000.
Accidental Death and Dismemberment
This insurance is provided as part of the life insurance, and is also paid for by Bay Cove Human Services. It provides insurance up to annual salary for death or dismembering injuries arising from accidental means.
When employees have one year of service, they may access financial assistance from Bay Cove to further their educational goals. The financial benefit increases with years of service.

Sick time accrues on a weekly basis (1.38 hours) beginning immediately, with no cap.
Personal time accrues on a weekly basis (.46 hours) for a total of 3 Personal Days per Fiscal Year (July 1-June 30). Personal time can not be carried over to the next year.
Direct Deposit - Employee payroll checks are deposited directly into their bank accounts.
T Pass - We will purchase your T pass and deduct the monthly cost pre-tax in weekly installments.
Employee Assistance Plan (EAP) - A free service to all staff through 24/7 telephone and web access for services covering personal and family crises, eldercare advice, emotional support and legal assistance.
Credit Union - The Metro Credit Union offers a variety of financial services. You can use payroll deduction for many transactions.
