Bay Cove Human Services is a private, not-for-profit corporation that provides highly specialized residential, day, outpatient and educational services to persons with a broad array of disabilities. The agency employs more than 1,800 full- and part-time employees, and provides treatment and support to over 20,000 individuals and their families per year at over 160 program sites and homes. 

Bay Cove is currently seeking energetic and caring individuals looking to make a difference in the lives of others. The following is a listing of internship (unpaid) opportunities and/or summer employment opportunities at a variety of program sites within four of our divisions.

Bay Cove Treatment Center

Provide psycho-social assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy in an urban outpatient methadone maintenance program. Opportunity to do long-term work with a polysubstance addicted population with co-occuring mental health and physical health issues 

Level of Internship:               
2nd year Master's level interns in social work, mental health counseling, psychology and related areas.

Internship Hrs/wk
Minimun of 20-24 hours. Must be available Tuesdays noon-2 p.m. and Thursdays noon-3 p.m.

Center House Day Treatment - Adult Psychiatric Day Treatment

Mental Health Residences

Provide case management and group counseling in a residential modality. Provide advocacy and supportive service delivery. Work as part of team focused on coordinating and improving residential services.

Level of Internship:           
Graduate students; will consider Undergraduate students

Early Intervention

Assist with toddlers' developmental play groups for developmentally delayed or 'at-risk' children ranging in age from 18 months to 36 months. Assist with curriculum planning, room set-up and clean up, and group leadership. When appropriate, accompany staff on home visits and assist with therapeutic interventions with parents and children up to 36 months old

Level of Internship:           
Graduate students in Early Childhood Education, Counseling Psychology, Social Work or Speech Language Pathology

Hours per week:
16-32 hrs/week  (minimum 12-week commitment required)

Developmental Disability, Day Services

Assist adults with developmental disabilities and/or mental illness in building social skills, education, training, and expressive therapies including art, music, movement therapies

Level of Internship
Undergraduate and Graduate students

Internship Hrs per wk:            
8-25 hrs/week
