SPECIAL EVENTS

Save the date of Wednesday, May 23--that's when Bay Cove will be celebrating another year of reaching people and changing lives at our 2018 Changing Lives Gala! The gala, which is Bay Cove's biggest fundraising evening of the year, will take place at 6 p.m. in the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel. The event will feature a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a delicious dinner and the presentation of our annual Changing Lives Award to Liberty Mutual Insurance and its Chairman & CEO David H. Long, for their extraordinary philanthropic leadership and their longstanding partnership with Bay Cove. The event is capped by a live auction (hosted, once again, by our celebrity auctioneer extraordinaire, Susan Wornick) featuring an exciting collection of exclusive items.

All of us at Bay Cove hope you will be able to join us for this wonderful evening celebrating the life-changing work done at Bay Cove, and the individuals we are privileged to serve each day. For ticket or sponsorship information, please please click on the title above ("Join Us ...") or contact David Hirschberg at 617-371-3167 or dhirschberg@baycove.org.

The weather was frightful, with drenching rains and wind-chills that dipped below freezing at times, but the six members of Team Bay Cove 2018 didn't let that stop them! Jill Antenucci, David Core, Lauren Easton, John Graves, Kris Kenney and Candice Narsasian took on the 122nd running of the Boston Marathon on April 16 with excitement and enthusiasm, with all six running and finishing the race they'd been training so hard for since last fall.

Along the way, these amazing athletes raised awareness of Bay Cove and our services, while also fundraising for the agency. Thanks to their efforts, as of Marathon Monday, the team had raised close to their $90,000 goal!

All of us at Bay Cove are so proud of Team Bay Cove, and so grateful to all of them for choosing to undergo this rigorous training process and for dedicating themselves to supporting our agency and our programs and services for individuals with the greatest challenges.

We also offer our profound thanks to our longtime partners at John Hancock, whose Boston Marathon Non-Profit Program has now provided us with the opportunity to field a team of runners and raise much-needed funds for our organization for the last 11 years. We value this relationship more than words can say!

And, finally, thanks to all who gave generously to the members of Team Bay Cove 2018 as they embarked on this adventure of a lifetime. For those who still wish to help, you haven't missed your chance! The team will be continuing to fundraise through May 15, and you can contribute to their efforts by simply clicking on any of the runners' names above, or by clicking here. Your donations go directly to services for individuals challenged by developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance use disorders and aging.

We thank you for your support, and we thank our six champions Jill, David, Lauren, John, Kris and Candice. WAY TO GO, TEAM BAY COVE!!!

The Marriott Courtyard Cambridge played host to nearly 200 CASPAR supporters on April 12, as the agency welcomed old friends and new to our 2018 "Strengthening Our Community,"event. The evening celebrating the life-saving work done by CASPAR programs--as well as the brave and inspiring individuals who have received or are currently receiving services from us--was a resounding success, raising close to $200,000 to support our work on the frontlines of the opioid crisis.

The event brought together civic, community and business leaders from throughout Cambridge and Somerville, longtime supporters and brand-new friends, advocates for men and women battling addiction and/or homelessness, employees of CASPAR and Bay Cove Human Services and others to honor those we serve, those who serve them, and the generous supporters who help make the work we do possible. In the process, “Strengthening Our Community” 2018 became the most successful fundraiser in our agency’s history!

At the event, Tom Andrews and the team at Alexandria Real Estate Equities were honored with The Carl F. Barron Catalyst For Change Award, for their longstanding support of CASPAR, their commitment to creating positive change in their community, and their work behind-the-scenes to help homeless neighbors in Cambridge. The award—named for a longtime supporter of CASPAR's work and presented this year by Carl’s son, Ken Barron—is given each year to recognize important individuals who have made a positive and lasting impact in the communities of Cambridge and/or Somerville. Guests also enjoyed delicious hors d'oeuvres and a live auction—led this year by returning event chair Jeff Lockwood, Global Head of Communications at Novartis Institutes for Biomedical Research, and Sarah Gallop, Co-Director of MIT's Office of Government and Community Relations.

All of us at CASPAR offer our deepest thanks to all our guests and generous donors, with particular gratitude to our wonderful event sponsors (Please click here for a complete list!). Kudos also to our hosts, the Marriott Courtyard Cambridge; our dedicated staff of volunteers who helped make the event shine; and our Director of Development, Julia W. Londergan, for all her fantastic efforts in making this an amazing evening for CASPAR!

Thank you so much for your continued support of CASPAR, and we hope we'll see you at "Strengthening Our Community" 2019!

October 2 was a perfect fall day to play a round of golf, and more than a hundred dedicated supporters of Bay Cove Human Services did just that—hitting the links at the gorgeous Myopia Hunt Club in South Hamilton for the 22nd annual George C. Cutler Memorial Golf Tournament to benefit Bay Cove’s Center House programs.

The tournament, presented by Liberty Mutual Insurance, is played in memory of George Cutler, a founding member of Center House and one of its most ardent supporters. Since its inception, the tournament that bears George’s name has raised more than $1.5 million to benefit Center House programs that help adults overcome the challenges presented by their mental illness and/or developmental disabilities.

This year, Bay Cove is proud to announce that the Cutler tournament added to that impressive total, raising close to $100,000 to support Center House’s vital services. We offer our profound thanks to all the golfers who came to play and gave so generously.

Special kudos and appreciation also go out to our event sponsors, without whom the tournament could not happen. Thanks to Presenting Sponsor Liberty Mutual Insurance; Platinum Plus Sponsors Riemer & Braunstein LLP and Walmart; Gold Sponsors Marsh, Stewart Title Guaranty Company, USI Insurance Services and Bob and Susie Walters; and Silver Sponsors Ametek, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Bink Inc., Boston Capital Corporation, Cambridge Capital Corporation, Canon Solutions America, Capital One National Association, Citizens Bank, Citizens Bank Commercial Real Estate, CSC ServiceWorks, Eastern Bank, Eaton Vance Investment Counsel, Robert Kargman, Mozzone Lumber, Ruberto, Israel & Weiner and Shepherd Kaplan.

We hope everyone had a wonderful day, and that we’ll see you all next fall for Cutler 2018!
