Responsibilities: Bay Cove Human Services, Inc. a leading Massachusetts human services organization, seeks a Support Staff to join us in our mission to provide high-quality services to adults who face the life-long challenges of mental illness, and substance use disorder. The Support Staff will enforce policies and procedures of the emergency shelter program, help maintain a safe environment for the clients, and provide support in the framework of recovery. The CASPAR program has built a comprehensive array of outreach, shelter, stabilization, residential, aftercare, education, and prevention services. This position has dual responsibilities as a Staff Support at WomanPlace and the live-in point person for GROW House. The Support Staff is responsible for enforcing the policies and procedures of the WomanPlace program, help maintain a safe environment for the clients, and provide support in the framework of recovery from substance abuse and alcoholism. Respond appropriately to any emergency situation. Contact on-call staff when necessary. Provide care for program participants and maintain order by monitoring client activities, providing crisis intervention and resolving conflicts, as needed. Maintain all safety and security policies and procedures, including bed checks, building security, and fire safety. Maintain daily logs. Monitor and maintain inventory of all program supplies, and assist staff responsible for purchasing of all supplies, as needed. As the GROW House point person, you would be required to live on site, rent free, in your own bedroom. You would oversee the eight women who have graduated from WomanPlace and became a tenant of GROW House, ensuring that the residents are complying with program rules and curfews, are not actively under the influence, are paying their rent on time, and to hold a weekly house meeting for all residents. The ideal candidate for this position is in active, long term recovery with the empathy and passion to help other women while they navigate early sobriety and independence Qualifications: Good written and verbal communication skills. Ability to follow and enforce the policies and procedures of the program. Be able to work independently Ability to perform assigned duties while maintaining a perspective as to the place occupied in the rehabilitative community. Able to accept supervision and be part of a team. Ability to manage stress. Ability to respond physically to the needs of the clients or other house issues on all floors.
