Responsibilities: Develop and operate innovative and flexible services that preserve tenancy and prevent homelessness for many of Boston's most vulnerable citizens. Work directly with Boston families who have viable tenancies but are facing a challenge to their housing. Provide "upstream" services to stabilize housing for families in a way that maximizes their housing stability and allows them to engage more fully with other services such as health care. Work with Boston families referred by Service Providers and Housing Providers. Provide assessment of the presenting housing issues, develop service plans that address housing risk and prevention of increased risk, and as needed provide effective crisis intervention for families with disabilities or related impairments.
Qualifications: Degree in social work or a related human service field or equivalent experience. Professional license, Master’s degree, and/bilingual preferred. Well-developed clinical, assessment, crisis intervention, case management, client advocacy and organizational skills preferred. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with poor and treatment-resistant or treatment unresponsive families in a respectful manner that fosters engagement, hope, and tenancy retention. 5 years experience working with homeless or formerly homeless individuals or equivalent experience preferred, demonstrated leadership experience preferred. Excellent computer, writing and oral communication skills. MA driver’s license and use of personal vehicle for work related tasks and travel preferred.
